SUMMARYTukong is the rumpless indigenous chicken breed of Indonesia. Its features must be described as basis for their preservation and improvement. The current understanding Tukong, including its origin, exterior traits, production indicators, presented in this review. As a result, feather colour varies from greenish-black, reddish-black, bluish-black, brown, white, with red pea-shaped comb. Tukong dual-purpose categorised small-sized bird body weight 1.65 ± 0.82 kg (rooster) 1.42 0.55 (a hen). This has potential to developed meat-producing chicken, which supported by high dressing percentage (79.50%). However, low reproduction properties (egg = 8–14 eggs/6 month period, fertility 73.51%, hatchability 81.42–84.26%). development needs increased order maintain sustainability take advantage superiority other pilot candidates formation new breeds.
